RideAbout65.1 – Day 13 – Lake George

RideAbout65 Day 13 report.  At the end of the Day 12 report I was leaving West Dover, VT and the fine Gray Ghost Inn on the road to Lake George, NY recommended by my fellow guests – the 5 Boston Plumbers.  As they said the ride was outstanding but I soon recalled that the definition of a good back road for a Harley guy is somewhat different than for a sport bike rider or even whatever my bike is…  Big sweeping curves and good scenery but nothing really to lean into.  No matter, it was enjoyable nonetheless.  Got to Lake George and rode around looking at some of the big lake houses and estates.  Stopped at a small public beach for the required photos and then moved on.  The rest of the days ride was a very enjoyable cruise up through the Green Mountain National Forest area and then over toward Utica, NY and finally down to Oneonta, NY for the night.  Oneonta is the town we have always stayed at when we went to race GNCC’s at Unadilla.  Sandy and I found a wonderful restaurant there the first year and have gone back over and over.  The Farmhouse Restaurant – yummo!  Always, nice to know some things don’t change.
